Fresh
Fresh basil will last about a week in the refrigerator. Since refrigerators are normally about 15 degrees cooler than the recommended storage temp for basil, put your unwashed basil in an unsealed plastic bag wrapped in a damp paper towel. The unsealed plastic bag prevents it from building up moisture, which will turn it black. Don’t rinse it until it’s time to use it. If you do rinse it, then it will only last about 3-4 days in the fridge.
