Results from My Garden:
- 2010-2011: 14 onions harvested; 4 lbs total; 4.5 oz each
- 2011-2012: 9 onions harvested; 3 lbs total; 5 oz each
- 2012-2013: no records kept
- 2013-2014: 1 lb transplants = 26 onions
- planted biointensively @ 4″ in late October (10/31)
- only a few bolted in early May (2 large scallions)
- had to harvest very early (mid-May), so they didn’t get to be full-sized
- Total Harvest:
- 13 onions, 2.25 lbs total
- small-medium sized bulbs, averaging 3-4 oz (not fully sized when harvested)
